What DMI and TV2 don't show you

DMI, TV2 and the rest each build on weather models like DMI HARMONIE, ECMWF, YR/MET and GFS. We show the models directly, so you can see where they agree – and where they disagree.

Frequently asked questions

About weather data, models and tjekvejr.dk
What is tjekvejr.dk?
tjekvejr.dk is an independent Danish weather service that gathers the leading forecasts in one place. Instead of opening five tabs you see DMI, TV2 Vejret, YR and several weather models side by side, so you can judge for yourself how certain they are.
Where does the weather data come from?
Every forecast is fetched live via Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), which makes the official weather models available: DMI HARMONIE, ECMWF, YR/MET Norway, NOAA GFS and DWD ICON. The data updates several times a day, whenever the models themselves run.
Why do you show several weather models?
Because one forecast is just one guess. When you see the models side by side you can tell whether they agree – and therefore how reliable the outlook is. If they disagree, you know that day's weather is hard to predict, whichever app you otherwise use.
What does it mean when the models disagree?
We work out an average (consensus) and a spread – the difference between the warmest and coldest model. If the spread is more than 3 degrees we flag the day as split. The forecast is then more uncertain than usual.
Is tjekvejr.dk affiliated with DMI, TV2 or YR?
No. tjekvejr.dk is an independent service. We show the open weather models and link straight on to DMI, TV2 Vejret, YR and Vejr og Radar, so you can easily check the sources yourself. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
How often is the weather updated?
Your browser always fetches the latest version when you open a page. The underlying models typically update several times a day, and current conditions are pulled in real time.
Can I get the weather for my own town?
Yes. We cover more than 570 Danish towns. Search for your town at the top, or find it under All cities. Every town has current weather, hour by hour, a 10-day outlook and a model comparison.
Who is Sky?
Sky is tjekvejr.dk's weather companion, keeping an eye on the clouds. Sky is the friendly mascot you'll spot in the bottom-right corner.
Does tjekvejr.dk cost anything?
No. tjekvejr.dk is free to use.
Weather data via Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), based on models from DMI, ECMWF, MET Norway (NLOD/CC BY 4.0), NOAA GFS and DWD ICON. tjekvejr.dk is independent and not affiliated with the services named. Forecasts carry inherent uncertainty. Last updated 22 July 2026.
